Mrs. Lynda Guzman, Principal
I am excited to be part of the Nimitz Elementary Family.
I am honored to serve our Nimitz students, staff and community. Together, we will strive to ensure that every Nimitz dolphin reaches their highest academic potential. By fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, we will empower our students to achieve academic success.
I attended UTSA and obtained my bachelor's degree in Mexican American Studies and a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a minor in bilingual education along with a ESL certification. I continued my education at UTSA while completing coursework to obtain a principal certification. My previous educational experiences include serving as a math teacher as well as an academic support teacher in Northside ISD. I served at Harlandale ISD and held the position as Academic Dean. I most recently served as a Vice Principal in northside ISD. I have been married for 23 years and I am a proud mom of two amazing children. My son is a Senior at Texas Tech University and my daughter Analisa is a Junior at Texas A & M. I look forward to supporting an educational community that ensures ALL students can achieve academic success at any level.
Mrs. Denise Krause, Assistant Principal
I am honored to serve the Nimitz Elementary family and proud to lead with authenticity, foster a culture of belonging, and champion equity so that every student feels seen, valued, and empowered to succeed. I earned my bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Bilingual Education, as well as my master's degree in Educational Leadership and principal certification, from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. My career began as a dual language teacher in Houston ISD, where I taught multiple grade levels for five years. Since then, I have served as the Reading Specialist at HPMS and most recently as Bilingual Team Lead here at Nimitz. I am married to a proud Tivy alumnus and fellow Nimitz graduate, and together we share our home with our two goldendoodles, Goose and Luci. I look forward to partnering with students, families, and our community to ensure every child at Nimitz thrives.
